I see you have a question about using your own photos for the screensaver function on your Mac after updating to Catalina.

If you choose Photo Library from the Source drop-down menu, you should see all of the albums in the Photos app on your Mac. If there are subfolders within an album, clicking the triangle next to the album name should reveal those.

All of my I photo library has disappeared. My Pictures file has also disappeared. The pictures still exist on my computer under images, but when I try to put them in the library it says the file is damaged. When I called support they said perhaps a software download would help with this, but it didn't. Recover all your missing photos via the iPhoto app, especially if you have failed to migrate. In the event that the migration process did not go as planned and you ended up losing all your photos, your best option is to install and use recovery software to recover your lost media files. When I select a photo folder for the screensaver, it only lasts a day, then the next morning it reverts to the Nat Geo photos. From the list, select the iPhoto library. Click Choose Library. Wait for your photos to be loaded and launched in your new Photos app. From now on, you can manage all your photos using this app. Recover all your missing photos via the iPhoto app, especially if you have failed to migrate.

Note that you can only choose one folder. If your library is not set up like this, another option would be to create a folder of images by choosing individual photos and then using the Export command under the File menu to create a folder of screenshot images outside of the Photos app.

Finally, you can set up a Smart Album in the Photos app.

Edit one photo and add 'screensaver' to the keywords under the Info tab. After doing that, you'll have that as an option in the Smart Album. That way, all you have to do to add an image to your screensaver is add the keyword 'screensaver' when you import it to the Photos app and it will automatically be part of the screen saver moving forward.

Screensaver Iphoto Library Missing Photos

If you are tired using the same images on your screensaver again and again or you simply want to personalize it, you can use your own photos from your iPhoto library. All you have to do is flag the pictures or images you want to appear as your screensaver and unflag those which you don't want to include. This step-by-step will tell you how to use your iPhoto library as a screensaver.
1. Go to your Mac menu bar and click the Apple icon to go to 'System Preferences.' Then click the 'Desktop & Screensaver' icon on the menu bar. Locate the 'Screensaver' tab on top of the screen and click it.

2. On the 'Screensaver' page, you will see different types of animated effects for your screensaver on the left-side panel. You can present your slides in random order, cross-fade which allows images to transition smoothly in succession with each other, zoom an image back and forth to show further details, or keep your photos at the center.

3. After choosing your effects, go to the right-side panel of the screen and click 'Source.' A drop-down list will appear, click 'Photo Library' and flag the images you want to include on your screensaver. If you have more than a hundred photos in your library, you can also use it as a mosaic display.
